About Toyo Metal Powder

​The history of Toyo Metal Powder Co., Ltd. began in Kyoto, and was established in 1876 as a metal powder store. Originally, Kyoto and Kanazawa had the exclusive right to produce gold leaf for use in buildings, arts and crafts, folding screens, sliding doors, etc. since the Edo period, and production was permitted only in Kyoto and Kanazawa by the Edo Shogunate. In October 1944, at the request of the then Navy Technical Department, Kyoto Metal Powder Co., Ltd. was established as a copper powder manufacturing factory.
